Allow me to introduce myself... I am a resourceful individual with strong skills and interests in a variety of disciplines. By trade I am a web designer and computer skills trainer, at heart I am an adventurer, world traveler, and outdoor enthusiast. My biggest strengths lie in my ability to see the big picture of a project and realize the essential elements to achieve results; to learn and adapt quickly to new environments, programs and technologies; and to build strong relationships with my colleagues, clients and vendors.
Additionally, I am adept at trouble-shooting and problem-solving. I enjoy pastimes such as Chess and Sudoku as they require great attention to details and the practice of thinking ahead. I come from a background of experiential based learning where I developed and led outdoor education programs for over a decade. I am heavily into teambuilding, group dynamics, effective communication and developing strong leadership skills. I enjoy working (and playing) with people and the power of utilizing the strengths of each member on a team.
As much as I love the outdoors, I love using computers (after all, life is all about balance!). Computers allow me to explore both the creative and technical sides of my brain. One of the things that draws me most to web design is the process of using my creativity and design skills to dream up an engaging page layout and then use my technical skills to turn it into an interactive web page. Ah, the best of both worlds! I also love learning new programs, languages and trends in the world of information exchange.
I interface well with both technical-minded programmers and creative designers. I am also very good at relating to clients and vendors. I have had a successful freelance web design and consulting business with a long list of satisfied clients which I largely attribute to three things: 1) I take the time to listen to them and get a sense of what they are looking for rather than pushing my own agenda, 2) I know when to give direction to help define their vision, and 3) I deliver high quality work and get things done on time – anything else would be unacceptable!
Take a look at my résumé and portfolio or drop me a line if would like to know more. Thanks for taking the time.
